Curriculum

The Junior Program curriculum includes:

  • Contemporary dance
  • Ballet
  • Repertory
  • Performance

The following optional classes are available by evaluation:

  • Pointe
  • Lyrical Jazz
  • Contemporary African
  • Royal Academy of Dance Ballet Exam Levels

Students enter the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival where they have consistently received high marks, including numerous modern dance scholarships and adjudicator’s group choice awards. Selected students have also entered Royal Academy of Dance ballet examinations with excellent results. In addition, many Junior graduates have entered the Senior Professional Program and have graduated into professional dance careers.

Monday evenings:          1.0 hour
Wednesday evenings:     2.50 hours
Friday evenings:             1.25 hour
 

Level 3/4

Tuesday evenings:         2.50 hours
Wednesday evenings:    1.25 optional hours
Thursday evenings:       1.50 hours plus 2.0 optional hours
Friday evenings:            2.50 hours plus 0.5 optional hour

 

Level 5/5+

Monday evenings:        1.00 hour plus 2.75 optional hours 
Wednesday evenings:   2.75 hours plus 1.25 optional hours      
Friday evenings:           2.5 hours
